Two-Weeks Post-Surgery

The first 4-5 days after hair transplant surgery were  tough for me. I had swelling and the donor area on the back of my head was really sore from surgery. I took tramadol for pain and an antibiotic for five days after the surgery. I used a travel pillow under the regular pillow to help keep my head slightly elevated and from putting pressure on it as I try to sleep on my back. I usually sleep on my side so it was not easy. I start washing my head gently few days after surgery.

My stitches were removed 10 days after the surgery. As you can see from the pictures, two weeks after the surgery the donor area has healed quite well. However, sometimes I experience discomfort on the back of my head. I still have some scabs but they have started to come off. I am still a little hesitant to vigorously scrub the recipient area of my head while taking a shower, although I was told by Dr. Marco it is ok to do so. That’s the reason you can still see scabs on my scalp.
